No more tender ads in newspapers: Zuma

Government will stop advertising in newspapers to invite tenders for state contracts, President Jacob Zuma told Parliament on Thursday. “It will be another cost-saving measure,” Zuma said in his response to the debate on his state of the nation address. He said it would translate into savings of “hundreds of millions of rands”. Zuma said that from April 1, in a bid to make state contracting more transparent, all tenders would be published online.
