Limpopo officials charged over tenders

Nine senior Limpopo co-operative governance officials have been charged with tender irregularities, the department said. The charges related to the awarding of a tender for low-cost housing for the financial year 2013/14, spokesman Motupa Selomo said in a statement. A forensic investigation revealed that the set-out bid evaluation and adjudication criteria were not followed during the tender process. The tender and its linked contracts had since been terminated. “Notices of disciplinary hearings were served on the affected officials and (they) are expected to appear on various dates between November 5 and 29,” said Selomo.
